The Five-Star Coaching System: Leadership Tools that Inspire Excellence

This program is designed to introduce fundamental coaching concepts to leaders at all levels that will enable them to serve as coaches to their direct reports and to take a coach-like approach to all their relationships. Specifically designed to include the art and science of coaching, we take a "whole brain approach" by combining strategies and techniques along with a process that supports participants in becoming aware of the underlying assumptions which shape and fuel their actions.

The art of coaching addresses the softer side of coaching and incorporates tools of listening and responding at a deep level in order to build a solid bridge of communication between two individuals. It teaches a process of inquiry that uncovers the beliefs and assumptions that govern people's actions, and offers a method of providing feedback that supports rather than undermines the growth of individuals.

The science of coaching deals with the specificity of the coaching conversation within which the soft coaching skills are utilized. The coaching conversation follows a strategy that includes identifying, without limits, what the coachee wishes to accomplish; pinpointing current reality free of emotional attachments; exploring options and alternative strategies; developing an action plan congruent with the coachee's inherent values and abilities; and establishing guidelines and structures to ensure accountability.

This is a two-day program which may be taken in two consecutive days. Alternatively, it can be taken as four separate modules.
